| Perhaps it really is you...
Monday 20 June 2005
In my work as an intuitive, I recently encountered a woman who, at the early age of thirty-eight, had already suffered from (and conquered!) three types of cancer. As she put it, it seemed as though no sooner would she complete treatment for one form than she would be diagnosed with another. And although she came to me for any insights I could offer, she understandably arrived with anger and contempt for everything - and almost everyone.
During her reading, I examined her chakras, the body's energy centres or power stations, when a vivid image came to me. In the vision, she was in high school and her father caught her making out with a neighbour one afternoon. Due to his religious convictions and disciplinarian nature, he embarrassed her by calling her a "whore" in front of the boy and punishing her for a whole week. When I asked her about what had come to me, she began to sob as it all came flooding back.
That incident had taken place over twenty-five years ago and yet in her chakras she was living and reliving the incident as if it were yesterday. That week of teenage pain seemed like a small dot when considered against the backdrop of her life and her accomplishments. Yet it had haunted her and the negativity surrounding it had never left her. And this negativity had played a starring role her cancer.
We create our own reality with our emotions, thoughts and actions. And when we hold on to past pain and negativity, it becomes embedded in our energy and our cells, manifesting itself in a variety of ways, whether it be something as life-threatening as cancer or as mundane as the common cold. If we grip this baggage too tightly we will keep it alive and give it power.
The only way to break free from the chains of the past is to retrieve the energy that we have given it. You may think this sounds too pat or trite, but this is how it's done. It really is as simple and as difficult as that.
So the next time you find yourself back in an unpleasant place that you have been before, ask yourself whether you are holding on to something that keeps pulling you back. All too often, we are our own worst enemies instead of our own best friends.
As a medical intuitive, I offer a insights and guidance to people on their physical and spiritual conditions. Click here to see the range of readings I offer or feel free to contact me directly.
Until next week,
Kindest regards,
